Is it necessary to isolate the zero bus from the shield body?

    Yes, of course you need to isolate the zero bus from other metal parts of the shield. At the same time, there should be a separate ground terminal block (if any in your wiring), it is not isolated from the metal parts of the case. The shield is additionally grounded by attaching a grounding conductor to a stripped portion of the metal surface of the housing and is connected to a common ground bus (terminal block).
