How to connect a generator with automatic reserve input?

Alexey asks:
Hello, Alexander. The situation is like this. I am constantly on the road. Therefore, I want to make a fully automated system for switching to a generator. I have three phases. I want to do one phase on the reserve. Lighting, boiler room (pumps) and several outlets. Is it possible? If so, I would really appreciate the scheme. I did not buy the generator and the ABP unit yet. Thanks in advance!

The answer to the question:
Hello! At this stage, the easiest way to buy a generator with built-in ABP. If you buy a generator without built-in ABP, then it must be with an electric starter and, as you already said, you will have to buy an external ABP unit.

Do you want only 1 phase backup to do? Will the rest be de-energized? The first option is perfectly described in the video (this is not an advertisement from our site, it’s just that the host laid out everything on the shelves in accessible language!):

If you still decide to buy a generator without an automatic transfer switch, then remember that during start-up you need to close the air damper, that is, in addition to power elements, like contactors, you will also need a servo drive, and even the brains that will control all this. To be honest, you don’t even need to apply the scheme, because there are many options for ABP blocks on the market, and each of them should have a scheme in the documentation, but to familiarize yourself with the general view, we give one of the options below.
