Why did halogen lamps burn out when connected to a transformer?

Hello. After connecting the transformer to the chandelier, they turned it on, and the lights all went out. Because of which? Halogen bulbs. Transformer 220V-12 V.

    Alternatively, you incorrectly connected the transformer to the bulbs. Accidentally did not confuse the input with the output?
