Why does the outlet not work after charging the laptop?

Hello, my socket does not work. It was all like that. A charger was plugged into the outlet that charged my laptop. Suddenly, charging stopped and I smelled as if something had been scorched. But there were no sparks or anything else. And even when this happened, my laptop immediately turned off. As a result, the laptop is working, only the date and time got lost there, the rest of the day with it everything is in order. Charging does not charge either from this outlet or from a working one. The outlet itself also does not work with other devices. I don’t understand this, I don’t understand what is the reason and what was it all about? Moreover, in the residential part of the room, the sockets sometimes do not work, and in the kitchen area all sockets work as always. I don’t attach the photo because nothing has changed there.

Hello! Well, the charger failed - this is obvious, maybe because of it the part of the wiring failed, maybe vice versa. The phrase is not entirely clear: “Moreover, the sockets sometimes do not work in the residential part of the room, and in the kitchen area all sockets work as always.” That is, the other sockets in this room also began to “junk”? There may be a problem in the junction box, for example, the contact between the incoming cable and those that diverge into sockets has disappeared. In any case, an audit of the wiring is necessary. I also recommend studying the article on the topic: https://my.electricianexp.com/en/chto-delat-esli-ne-rabotayut-rozetki.html
