Why do LED lamps heat up and is it dangerous?

Hello. On the suspended ceiling, the eyes of the Navigator 35w burned out. Replaced by the same LED 5 w (written analogue 35w). It does not pass and 5 minutes are very hot, the metal ring around the eye is also heated. Should it be or is it dangerous? Before that, no one had touched them, it was unknown whether they were heating up or not.

Hello! When replacing the lamps, the voltage of the lamps must first be taken into account. If the supply voltage of the LED lamps corresponds to the voltage of the power source, then the lamps should work normally without excessive overheating. LED lamps can be heated due to their marriage or if they are cheap and heat dissipation is structurally poorly implemented in them. With regard to safety - excessive heating of the lamps is dangerous from the point of view of fire safety.
