Overview of the voltage relay HS Electro UKN-63s

We continue the series of articles with a review of volt control devices. The UKN-63s voltage relay (voltage control device) with an additional temperature control sensor inside the case located near the power relay got to our review. In this article, we provided instructions for connecting and configuring the UKN-63s, and also examined the design features of this relay and functionality.

Design Features

The built-in temperature sensor controls the temperature inside the case, in case of overload of the device and excessive heating of the conductors, the controller disconnects the load and displays overheating on the “PRG” indicator.

This thermal protection is designed to extend the life of the device. The manufacturer guarantees the failure-free operation of the UKN-63s relay for 5 years of operation from the date of sale, and the warranty period and support for two years.

Specifications

Setup and Connection

UKN-63s from HS Electro is ready to work immediately after installation in an electrical panel, since the factory default settings are as follows:

  • for the upper limit - 250 volts;
  • for the lower threshold -180 volts;
  • time to delay re-enable - 10 seconds.

In most cases, these default settings are sufficient for uninterrupted supply, trouble-free operation of electrical equipment, as well as reliable disconnection of the volt by the load controller in case of an emergency in the mains.

The device is equipped with the ability to view the last voltage value that caused an emergency shutdown by holding the “info” button. A situation familiar to many when mains voltage differs from the norm 220 V and nsignificant fluctuations in the network are observed, which often happens on long and congested lines. To avoid frequent switching on and off of the UKN-63s, the relay needs to be configured, manually set parameters that will be more suitable for the realities of your network.

Relays can be adjusted within the following limits:

  • the upper limit can be set from 230 - 270 volts;
  • lower threshold from 120 - 210 volts;
  • the time delay setting can be changed from 5 seconds to 600 seconds.

When setting parameters on the UKK, it is not advisable to set small voltage levels from the current values in the network. To protect devices such as refrigerators and air conditioners, the manufacturer recommends setting a maximum delay time of 600 seconds.

Mounting the relay in the electrical panel is done by mounting on a DIN rail. Connection diagram of the voltage relay UKN-63s:

Wiring diagram

After the metering device, a protective circuit breaker is installed, which protects the relay from overload and short circuit. The first terminal “N” is used to connect the neutral wire, the second “IN”, the input of the power phase wire, and the third “OUT” output of the power wire to the consumer.

After applying the voltage, the device will output the current voltage value, currently present on its terminals, to the digital indicator, flashing numbers.If the voltage corresponds to the set allowed threshold, after counting the holding time, the device will close the terminals of the power relay and the output will appear voltage, the indicator at this moment will stop flashing and continue to show the mains voltage.

To change the upper level, it is necessary to press the "Uв" button and hold it for about three seconds until the point on the right starts flashing. At this moment, the plus or minus buttons can be used to change the voltage values.The upper voltage range can be selected from 230 to 270 volts.Ten seconds after the last button press, the controller will exit programming mode.

In a similar way, the lower threshold is changed by pressing and holding the “Un” button until a flashing dot appears on the right side of the digital indicator. The range of variable parameters lies within 210 -120 Volts, we set it with the plus or minus buttons. To change the time, hold the button with the image of the clock and hands until the relay enters the parameter programming mode.As with other values, we change the time with the plus or minus buttons.

UKN-63s has the ability to calibrate the built-in voltmeter, if you have a reference voltmeter and there is a difference in the readings of devices, it can be removed by adjusting the parameters. To enter this parameter, you must simultaneously hold down the two buttons "timer" and "info", until a blinking dot appears. And then with the buttons plus or minus lead to the same result.

findings

This volt controller can be recommended for installation in the metering panel, as a protective device against power surges. The user of UKN-63s is not much burdened by the settings and the initially set parameters, in most cases, will more than satisfy the consumer. The device fulfills its declared functions clearly and instantly. A special bonus is a temperature sensor that monitors the state of contacts and the state of the relay as a whole. Thermal protection will urgently disconnect the load and thereby protect the consumer and the home network.
