How many junction boxes do you need per room for lighting?

Sergei asks:
Tell me, how many wiring boxes of lighting do you need in a room (main light, bedside sconces, and sconces for a table), a separate group, 3x1.5 cable? Is it worth putting a box over each light source in order to save cable?
The answer to the question:
Boxes should be placed exactly as much as necessary. You can even lay a separate cable from the electrical panel for each lamp, or you can put a box near each lamp. Choose solutions based on ease of installation and distance to fixtures. Yes, this will save the cable if you install the wiring above each lamp, but only if you will put the switch there. If the switches are all in one place, then the length of the path will be approximately the same, even if you put one box on the input side of the room and lay a cable from it to each lamp.
