Electricity consumption increased by the old meter

Good afternoon, we have a single-phase single-rate electricity meter. We have been using it for about 10 years, recently we began to notice that energy consumption is increasing and quite noticeable, although consumers remained almost the same. The question is, maybe the reason is in the counter, is it worth changing it to a new one?

Hello! The reasons for the increase in energy consumption are quite diverse, we listed them in the article: https://my.electricianexp.com/en/uvelichilsya-rasxod-elektroenergii.html. Before changing the counter, try unplugging all electrical appliances from outlets and see if it shakes or not. If yes, there are 2 options: either the meter is defective and needs to be changed, or someone connected to your wiring if you live in an apartment.
