Cable laying technology on a cable
According to Chapter 2.1 of the EMP this method is applicable for networks up to 1000 volts. Most often, cable wiring is used in places where the organization of overhead lines does not make sense, but it is enough to pass the cable attached to the cable, and this is enough to electrify the object.
In this way, lighting networks and electrical wiring for outlets in warehouses, power cables in production shops, and also between two separate buildings are carried out.
For a home master, this wiring method is of particular interest. That's because with the help of simple technology there is the opportunity to electrify farm buildings in the country. Thanks to cable wiring, it is possible to conduct light from the house to the bathhouse, garage, barn, gazebo and other buildings and lighting devices spaced a short distance from the home garden.
First you need to decide on the wire and its cross section. About, how to calculate cable cross-sections, we told in the corresponding article. After this, you need to measure the length, taking into account the entire route of the wiring from the machine to the distribution panel. When choosing a cable and suspension elements, you must take into account the weight of the wire in this area, with a three-fold safety margin. Since the load on the suspended structure increases in difficult weather conditions, it can cause breakage and blackout. Mostly steel galvanized wire rope with a diameter of from 4.6 to 6.8 mm. In cases where the suspension length is small, and the weight is such that it can be neglected, instead of cable electrical wiring, you can use a string (a galvanized steel wire is stretched or a hot-rolled wire coated with varnish from 5 to 10 mm).
First you need to fix the anchor and cable fastening elements on the selected site. For the most part, these steel plates are pulled together on two sides of the wall by studs, and rings welded to them to suspend the cable. The tension of the fastening is done to strengthen and prevent their loss, the distribution of the load weight evenly on the wall, and not at the points of fasteners.
Next, you need to fasten the cable on one side with special looped cable clamps, on the other hand, tighten it as much as possible, and use screw couplings to reach the state of the string.
The suspension height should not be lower than 2.75 meters above the pedestrian zone, and at least 6 meters above the road.All norms of aerial electrical wiring, including the distance between the supports, are indicated on the diagram:
After installing the strings, they begin to tie the cable with a bandage. To hang cable wiring on the street, you can use plastic clamps, galvanized iron strips, galvanized knitting wire. The distance between the bandage is 50-80 cm.
When using a knitting wire, it is necessary to prevent the core from cutting into the insulation; for this, a laying is made between the bandage and the wire of insulating material. The bandage winding area should be maximally distributed by laying 7-10 turns of the bandage. When using plastic clamps, check their operational data. Otherwise, in winter in frost or very hot summer, find scattered clamps.
When externally laying the cable along the cable, it is also necessary to protect the line from the influence of the medium on the insulation, therefore it is recommended to stretch it in the corrugation, as shown in the photo below. This will then reduce the cost of operating and restoring cable wiring.
With a small span or lack of the ability to attach to the cable cable at the installation site, there is the possibility of assembling the suspension on the ground. An already prepared construction can be tensioned and attached.
