How many RCDs need to be installed in the apartment?

Nazar asks:
Good Evening, Dear Electrician, I need your advice. A new building at the entrance to the apartment has an installed 50A input circuit breaker, I extended the wiring, I got 7 pcs of 16 A outlet groups of automatic machines + 32 hob.

What RCD nominal to put ??? one for 63 A, or is it better to spend on 2-3 RCDs to divide the machines into groups ??? thanks for the help

The answer to the question:
Hello! Of course, it is better to put an RCD on each of the groups, in addition to the rated current, the RCD has a more important parameter that characterizes its operation, namely, "Operation current", aka "Leakage current" or "differential current". It should be equal in your case about 30mA (milliamps).

If you want to save, then installing 3 RCDs is reasonable.

  1. total input, 100-300 mA with a current of 50-63A;
  2. on the hob - 30 mA;
  3. combine all the sockets in one group and set the RCD to 30-50 mA.

But it will be better, of course, to beat into smaller groups, but then the shield will increase in size and its cost ...
