Damaged the wire from the outlet when puttying a hole in the wall

During the repair, we closed the hole in the wall with stucco, from which the wire from the outlet protruded. When the wire itself was accidentally touched, it began to smoke and crack. If you do not touch it, nothing happens. Tell me, will it be safe to use the outlet after this?

It is impossible! He began to crack because of a short circuit and high current, if I understood correctly. To prevent this from happening again - the ends of all protruding wires must be wrapped with insulation if they are not used, even if they stick out for several minutes. If insulation has melted on the veins inside the wall, it can close at any time. And it will be bad if this happens after wallpapering and final wall decoration. So it’s better to call an electrician to determine the condition of the wire on-site and restore the insulation layer if necessary.
