Connecting a backup generator to the house network

I want to connect the wires of the backup generator to the lower outputs of the input circuit breaker, from where the network wires go out to power the house - without turning off the network wires. When disconnecting the mains current - I turn off the input switch - I turn on the generator and the current from the generator through the lower contacts gets to the wires going into the house. Please rate who understands. Can it be so or not.
Thanks in advance!

To connect the generator to the home wiring, it is necessary to use a cross over switch with three positions “disabled”, “input 1”, “input 2”. In this case, input 1 - will be the mains, input 2 - the generator. This method eliminates the simultaneous inclusion of the generator and the mains voltage.
