The stop button breaks the control circuit. If this is a non-reversible circuit with one starter, then, in fact, it can be installed after the start button or after the coil - the main thing is that when you press it, the control circuit breaks and the control coil loses power. But what's the point? There is a standard scheme - so that there is no confusion and it is easier to maintain the circuit. But if it is a reversing circuit with two starters, then the start button should break the circuit for the two starters, so it should not be put in another place. Look carefully at the starter connection diagrams and everything will be clear.
