Why does the outlet not work after transferring to another place?

Hello dear! House built in the 60s, wiring without grounding. There was a need to move the outlet one and a half meters on the wall. To do this, I bought the same wire (aluminum, two-wire with the same diameter as the existing one), increased the wire (through the terminal block on the screws and in the insulation), picked up the socket in a new place - I connect the plug - the device does not work. The indicator screwdriver shows a weak glow on one wire, and a strong glow on the other. Disconnect the new wire at the splice. The indicator shows on the wires leaving the wall a clean zero (no glow) and a clean phase (bright glow). I connect the socket to the old wires - the device works. Again, I am splicing through the block - in the terminal socket - both wires glow, the devices do not work. I replaced the expandable wire (I thought about marriage or internal breakdown of insulation) - the same song - both glow, the devices do not work. If you disconnect the stackable - everything is fine. What can be wrong? Thank you in advance for your response!
