Do I need to change the old electricity meter to a new one in the apartment?

Natalya asks:
Hello, we recently moved into a rented apartment, and there is an old meter in the electrical panel, the neighbors say that it must be changed, otherwise there will be a fine during the check. The question is whether to change the counter or leave everything as is? And if you still need to, then how to do this?
The answer to the question:
Hello! Electricity meters with accuracy class 2.0 and higher are allowed for use (1.0, for example, the higher the lower the numbers). At the same time, the counter must have a valid calibration interval. If the verification interval has passed, then the counter is either checked again or replaced.

How to do this and leave it or not - it’s not for us to ask, but in your energy supply or management company, depending on who you pay for electricity.
