Is it possible to connect the welding machine to a conventional outlet?

Good afternoon! Is it possible to connect modern inverter welding machines to a regular outlet or does a special outlet with a large cross-section of a wire be required?

Hello! It all depends on the power of the welding machine and at what currents you will use it. A conventional outlet can withstand loads up to 16A, which is 3.5 kW. If the welding machine will consume more, you need to connect it through a special power outlet to 20 or 32A. Accordingly, the outlet must be connected with a copper wire, with a cross section of at least 2.5 mm.kv., preferably 4 mm.kv. And the entire line for connecting the welding machine must be protected by a suitable circuit breaker.
