Hello. I would like to know, I want to extend a socket for a washing machine from a separate machine into the bathroom. Only the washing machine will turn on. The machine's power is 1700 watts, there is a copper wire VVG 3 * 1.5. Can I use such a wire?

Hello! A copper wire with a cross section of 1.5 mm.sq. It is able to withstand a load of more than 3 kW, the socket of a new sample can also withstand up to 3.5 kW. Therefore, in your case, you can stretch the wire 3 * 1.5. Then protect the line with a 10A automatic machine. However, I would recommend extending the 3 * 2.5 wire for reasons of margin. Suddenly you want to change the outlet to a double and connect to it, in addition to the washer, a 1.5 kW boiler? Then it will be close to the cross-section and the machine will work when overloaded (10A is approximately 2.2 kW).

Good afternoon. Thank you for the answer. There will be one outlet in the bathroom and only the machine will turn on for the duration of the wash.
