Can I connect a 380V contactor via a conventional switch?

Karim asks:
Can I connect a KMI-34012 contactor with 380 V coil power from a conventional switch (not a button, push-button post, etc.)? That is, one contact (A1) is connected directly to the phase, and the second (A2) through the key switch to any other phase.
The answer to the question:
What do you mean by “conventional switch”? Light switch? If yes, then it’s not worth it, they are usually designed for use in circuits up to 250V. It is better to choose some kind of toggle switch with the appropriate voltage, or still through a push-button post.
