Can I connect a 3-wire electric cable instead of a 4-wire cable?

Vyacheslav asks:
Is it possible, when connecting the hob, to use instead of 3 core wire of the desired cross section, 4 core wire with the same cross section or large.
The answer to the question:
And how do you replace 1 core? What kind of stove, how many phases, what is the connection diagram? I assume that 2 phases, zero and a ground wire were connected there. If so, then without a grounding conductor, it is not recommended to use it. And if it involves a three-phase connection, then you need not 4, but 5 cores. Are you sorry to spend up to 1500 on a suitable cable?
