Can I leave the TV in standby mode

Hello. I have a AKAI TV. And it bothers me that instead of the standard “little thing with a plug” that plugs into a socket, the “bomb” adapter with a plug is rather heavy and impressive, with a green light, these are usually the case with laptops. Is it possible to leave such a TV in a state of "sleep" (off the remote control)? After all, at the same time, the green light of the adapter is on. Is it dangerous for an outlet, wiring? Thank.

Hello! For the outlet, this is not dangerous under the condition of normal power supply, but the adapter with a green light is in danger, because it can fail if a power surge occurs. And in our electric networks this happens regularly.
    What will happen next? Unknown
    1. The power supply will just burn.
    2. The power supply will fail, and its rectifier will short-circuit. The consequences - knocking out an automatic machine, burn-out of wiring, sockets, apartments - it is not known what exactly.
Therefore, it is recommended to protect the wiring from power surges, then you can not be afraid for the equipment left in standby mode.
