Which generator is better to choose for backup power: single-phase or three-phase?
Good afternoon. The question arose about choosing a generator, I do not know which one to choose: single-phase or three-phase. I want to use it as a backup source at the facility. Specialists say that three-phase is better, since everything on the phase is powered on the object (lighting, alarm, video surveillance, pumps, etc.). Hello! And you are going to turn off the wires and switch the circuit to 1 phase with each blackout? Or are you going to install additional starters for switching the circuits (which is not difficult in principle, but still)? I would buy a three-phase generator in your place.
