What section should the extension cord be for connecting powerful household appliances?

Hello. What cable section should I choose an extension cord to which powerful household appliances (electric kettle, washing machine, electric stove) will be connected? Is there a need to use an extension cable to connect the filter?

Hello! Powerful household appliances are not recommended to be connected through an extension cord, especially all at once! The fact is that you will connect the extension cord to an outlet that is designed for a load of 16A, i.e. 3.5 kW An electric kettle and a washing machine, turned on simultaneously, are already about 4 kW, not to mention the electric stove. So it’s better to connect powerful household appliances to different outlets, which are divided into separate groups from the junction box. Regarding the use of a surge protector, check out our article: https://my.electricianexp.com/en/chto-takoe-setevoj-filtr.html In short, you don’t need one for the equipment you specified.

In general, an extension cord is better to take a section of 3 * 2.5 mm.kv. But again, this does not mean that you can connect all household appliances to it at once!
