How to make an electrician's knife - instructions in pictures

First you need to prepare tools and materials, namely:
- several blades of a clerical knife;
- handle (a piece of aluminum profile from a mosquito net of plastic windows is ideal);
- wooden rail, the cross section is slightly smaller than the cross section of the profile;
- cutting diamond microdisk (pictured below);
- drill;
- soldering iron and solder.

Having prepared the materials, we proceed to the assembly of a homemade knife with a heel. To make the information perceived more accessible, we will provide it in the form of step-by-step instructions:
- In the blade, make a spike with which you can fix the heel. In the heel itself, cut a hole with a drill corresponding to the width and thickness of the blade.
- Pass the heel onto the spike and solder everything.
- Round the edges of the heel so that when stripping it does not damage the insulating layer of the wires.
- In the rail, make a cut under the blade, and then place the rail with the finished knife in profile.
- To prevent the blade from slipping inside the profile during operation, secure it with a bolt that will pass through the handle and the process hole, as shown in the photo below:
Here, with such simple instructions, you can make a knife with a heel for removing insulation with your own hands. As you can see, it will not take so much time to assemble the homemade product.

Thanks for the idea! But the technology, to put it mildly, is not entirely simple. Need a drill and soldering iron skills above average. Besides - sooner or later this “heel” will surely fall off. And pay attention to the result - there is a wire in your left hand, and you need to use the resulting tool with your right hand, I do not think that it lies comfortably in the hand. On the Internet, there is another option - from a thick (more than 2 mm) strip of metal (1 mm from the edge of the grinder a cut is made on both sides), a heel is made from this 1 mm, cuts are made so that the cutting part is obtained). I used the cheapest chisel as a blank.
