How to lower and regulate the engine speed of the grain crusher?

Hello. I must say right away that I'm almost zero in electrics. Connect the plug and screw in the bulb. The question is as follows. There is a motor from a grain mill with a capacity of 1700 watts. The number of revolutions is unknown. Used belt drive to the pulley from the "classics" (pump). It is necessary to lower the speed and adjust from 200 to 400 (500). What device do you need to purchase and how to install it (for a makeshift pen-removal machine)? Revolutions without lowering are frantic. Hope more or less clearly stated the problem. Help me please. There is no one to consult with.

Hello! First of all, I’m interested in what type of your engine, send its photo and marking - it should be on the nameplate. If it is an asynchronous three-phase motor, then most likely it is 3000 rpm, rarely 1500. They can be normally regulated only with the help of a frequency converter. If it is a collector motor (with brushes), you can use a simistor regulator - this is a dimmer, with a margin of 2.5 kilowatts. But with this method of adjustment, with a decrease in speed, power and torque on the shaft decrease. You need to try if it suits your tasks!

Judging by what I see - this is an asynchronous motor of 3000 rpm 1.7 kW. Judging by the plate - single-phase. To adjust the speed you need a frequency converter of the type Aries PChV1. If you want cheaper - do a belt drive with a large ratio of wheels.

thanks for the answer. We'll keep thinking. they are expensive of course.
