    PUE 1.7.8, it does not write about the iron roof, but the metal structures are building elements, they should all be connected in a chain of the equation of potentials. I think that this is correct. Otherwise, with a lightning rod and a non-grounded roof, a capacitor is formed and the insulated roof will become like one of its poles, with high potential. Isolation is not needed, the accumulated charge must go to the ground. And here it turns out automatically the roof is grounded.

      Thanks for the answer. From it we can conclude that there is no need to spend money on an expensive circuit of a lightning conductor - it is enough to ground the roof from a metal tile. However, there is a well-founded opinion that lightning just hits the house with a grounded metal roof. Perhaps this option is unsafe?

Its purpose is to minimize the effect of lightning and take along the path of least resistance, along the metal tap. You can collect lightning on the roof, but there is a hypothesis that the height of the lightning rod is proportional to the area under it, into which lightning will not strike.

However, for example, if a lightning rod is installed on a separate pole and rises above the roof to the required height, we will take it and connect it to the metal roof of the house (ground it). Such a connection is obviously absurd — it is unlikely that anyone will do so in life. Will we feel safe? But the actions of the installers on the video are similar to those described. I probably don’t understand something, but it’s hard for me to accept the possibility of connecting the roof to the lightning protection circuit. I would like to hear serious arguments about the safety of such actions.
